Over the past few years Healthcare has become one of India's largest sectors both in terms of revenue and employment. The industry is growing at a tremendous pace owing to its strengthening coverage, services and increasing expenditure by public as well private players. According to India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF,) India is expected to reach among top three healthcare markets in terms of incremental growth by 2020. The healthcare sector in India is expected to grow threefold at a CAGR of 22 per cent during 2016-2022 to reach US$ 372 billion in 2022 from US$ 110 billion in 2016. Currently India stands at 145th rank among 195 nations in respect of quality and accessibility of healthcare. These numbers shows the immense scope for enhancing healthcare services penetration in India, thus presenting ample opportunity for development of the healthcare industry.
In order to convert these no’s in reality India needs a skilled workforce fully equipped to deal with issues pertaining to healthcare industry.
