It's Raining Exams and Now…
During each of my
morning walks, I come across nervous, curious mothers (Dads sometimes) holding
a sheet with last minute revision for exams that is due for the kid. Even
as small as 2nd grader is subjected to last minute glance at his / her book on
bus stops by supervising parents.
Come on, Spare your
kids. How is it that so much statistical data of suicides and self harm by kids
doesn't deter you from pressurizing them to last moment of reading? Kids
waiting for their vans and buses want to enjoy nature, dogs, cats, flowers,
morning vendors around them. Let them do it. Let's not forget the objective of
Education is creating cultured, civilized society. Teach them to be good human
beings, Certifications and Degrees are by-products of system. Don't make system
a main purpose.
Exams will come and
go, our kids are our assets, teach them to know the importance of education and
exam, let them consciously decide how they want to attempt these exams. That
last moment of reading with you ever standing around would not be great
tool to score anyways..
All opinions are
welcome..
